How do I choose the right transaction type?

Choose based on: who you're dealing with (individual or company), the transaction direction (buying or selling), whether there's a trade-in, and whether you're purchasing the vehicle or handling it on consignment.

Click + and simply pick the type of transaction you are doing at the moment. All the information that re requiered will be highlighted in orange with your transaction form.

Transaction Types available in Jouver :

  2. Buy from Individual

  4. Sell to Company

Ask yourself these questions:

First, am I buying or selling?

Second, is the other party an individual or a business?

Third, is there a trade-in vehicle involved?

Fourth, am I purchasing this vehicle outright or handling it on consignment?

For straightforward purchases or sales with no trade-in, choose "Buy from Individual/Company" or "Sell to Individual/Company" based on the other party. When a customer wants to trade their vehicle toward their purchase, choose one of the "Sell + Trade-in" options based on whether they're an individual or company. For vehicles you're selling without purchasing, choose the appropriate consignment transaction type.

Individual versus company distinction is important because it affects tax treatment, required disclosures, and legal protections that apply. Business-to-business transactions often have different tax recovery options and don't require the same consumer protection disclosures.

If you select the wrong transaction type initially, you may need to delete and recreate the transaction correctly, so it's worth taking a moment to choose correctly the first time. The transaction type determines which fields appear, which documents generate, and how the transaction flows through your accounting and compliance reporting.
