What if the vehicle license plate lookup doesn't work?

License plate lookup depends on database availability and accuracy, which varies by country and region. If the automatic lookup returns no results, first double-check that you've entered the license plate exactly as it appears on the vehicle, including correct spacing, dashes, and characters. Some regions use letters that look similar to numbers or vice versa. If you're certain the entry is correct but lookup still fails, the vehicle may not be in the accessible databases yet (if very recently registered) or the database connection may be temporarily unavailable. In these situations, Jouver allows you to proceed by manually entering all vehicle information.

Type or paste the make, model, variant, first registration date, and VIN from the vehicle's documentation. This manual entry functions exactly the same as auto-filled information in all subsequent processing. Some dealers verify VIN accuracy by checking the physical VIN plate on the vehicle against their entry. While manual entry takes a bit longer, it ensures you can always proceed with your transaction even if automatic lookup isn't available. As databases improve coverage and reliability, lookup success rates continue to increase.
