What is "Buy from a Company" transaction?
This transaction type is for purchasing vehicles from dealerships, auctions, fleet companies, or any commercial seller. It handles business tax treatment and generates appropriate purchase documentation.
"Buy from a Company" is used when acquiring inventory from commercial sources rather than private sellers.
This includes dealer-to-dealer purchases, auction acquisitions, fleet vehicle purchases, or buying from rental companies. Select the selling company from your contacts, enter transaction details, input the license plate for automatic vehicle lookup, and specify purchase and selling prices.
The key difference from individual purchases is tax treatment: business purchases often allow tax recovery depending on your jurisdiction and the seller's tax status. In the tax section, you'll typically select "With tax" mode and enter the tax amount paid, which you may be able to recover. For EU dealers, cross-border business purchases use the "Intracom" tax mode with special rules. The transaction generates purchase documentation appropriate for commercial deals, including business purchase orders and receipts with tax details properly noted.
The Official Inventory Record ID is assigned for compliance.
The vehicle appears in your Stock with all details and appropriate tax information that flows through to your accounting exports.
This transaction type ensures proper documentation for tax authorities and provides the information needed to claim any recoverable taxes on your business purchases.
